The skin of young, healthy people contains an abundance of hyaluronic acid and collagen.  The collagen gives structure to your skin; the hyaluronic acid binds water.  Together, the collagen and hyaluronic acid keep the skin looking smooth and supple.  With time and sun damage, the collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid diminish within your skin.  As the skin loses this structure and volume, fine lines and wrinkles appear.  This process is natural and inevitable, but it can be counteracted with many non-surgical advancements in wrinkle correction available in our office.

Skin Evaluation

Detailed skin evaluations are performed in our office by either Dr. Kupersmith or one of our estheticians. At this consultation a trained professional will recommend a skin care regimen especially suited to your particular needs. The use of and benefits of the various products will be discussed. Since we believe that proper skin care is an important aspect of maintaining a healthy and youthful appearance, we encourage all of our clients to continue their skin care even after they leave the office. We carry a variety of skin care products to best suit each person’s needs. Our cosmeceutical lines include Obagi, SkinCeuticals, and Procyte.

Facial

Come enjoy a relaxing facial in a comfortable atmosphere with dim lighting and soft music. As part of any of our facials, you will be pampered with a neck and shoulder massage, hand massage, and a foot massage if you choose.  If you prefer, you may chose to have a hot stone massage of any of the above areas. Due to the variety of facials which we offer, you should be able to find one which suits you best. However, if you have difficulty choosing a type of facial, our esthetician would be happy to make a recommendation. We have facials for problematic or acne prone skin, for rosacea, for sensitive skin, for oily skin, for sun damaged skin, and many more…

Chemical Peel

A chemical peel involves applying a chemical or a mixture of chemicals to the skin for a period of time to exfoliate or peel off the top layers of skin. These peels have been performed for many years to treat a variety of skin disorders, including sun damage, wrinkles, and even uneven pigmentation. Chemical peels can also smooth the texture of the skin. There are many different techniques and regimens. The exact strength and regimen is tailored to each client. Chemical peels may be performed alone or at the same time as other surgical procedures.

Microdermabrasion

As with chemical peels, microdermabrasion has been performed for many years to treat a variety of skin disorders, including sun damage, wrinkles, and uneven pigmentation or texture. The procedure utilizes a machine to gently blow tiny crystals on the skin to exfoliate or peel off the top layers of skin. The vacuum removes the crystals and exfoliating skin. The vacuum is also thought to induce cell growth and blood vessel growth. Microdermabrasion can be used alone or in addition to other exfoliative techniques such as chemical peels.

BOTOX®

Have you recently noticed fine lines around your eyes or wrinkles on your forehead or between your eyebrows? Do the corners of your mouth droop? Have you recently noticed “Bunny lines” on your nose? Would you like a more youthful, refreshed appearance to your face? Consider undergoing a treatment with BOTOX®. Although BOTOX® is used in many different areas, two of the most commonly treated areas are the area around the eyes and the forehead. The treatment can reduce or eliminate wrinkles in the treated areas for approximately 3-5 months. At your consultation we can discuss the many different areas where you could benefit from the use of BOTOX®.

BOTOX® Cosmetic is purified protein from the Clostridium botulinum bacterium, which decreases the activity of muscle tissue. When small amounts of the solution are injected into a muscle, there is apparent relaxation of the muscle. In addition to the recent cosmetic uses, it has been used for treatment of migraine headaches, excessive sweating, and eye and neck muscle spasms.

Radiesse

Radiesse is an injectable filler composed of synthetic tiny calcium hydroxylapatite particles in a gel. It is a material similar to that in bone which forms “scaffolding” for tissue in-growth. With time the tiny particles degrade via the body’s normal metabolic processes. Since there is new collagen infiltration around the radiesse™ particles, lasting results can average 12-18 months.

Radiesse has numerous uses including filling in the smile lines and Marionette lines. It can be used to accentuate the cheek area or better define the border of the lip. One of the most recent uses for Radiesse is to treat irregularities after a “nose job”. The clear advantage of using Radiesse as opposed to other fillers is the longevity of the results.

Restylane

Have you noticed deepening folds around your mouth or sagging skin along your jaw line? Do your friends constantly tell you that you look tired or sad?

With age and exposure to the sun, our skin develops fine lines and wrinkles. The wrinkles which appear between the nose and mouth or “smile lines” can be minimized and often eliminated by injecting Restylane or other dermal fillers. Other areas which are easily treated with fillers are the “Marionette lines” which turn down the corners of your mouth. The use of dermal fillers is a fast, safe, and effective method of contouring your face and restoring a healthier appearance by eliminating those unwanted lines and folds. Are you bothered by smile lines or Marionette lines? If so, you should consider the use of dermal fillers.

Restylane is a clear gel composed of non-animal stabilized, hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a natural sugar found in all living cells that attracts and binds water, hydrating your skin and giving it volume. All three products are FDA approved and give natural looking results. They mimic the effects of natural hyaluronic acid within the skin. The products are designed to minimize the appearance of wrinkles, shape facial contours and sculpt the lips. No skin testing is required. Results are immediate and can last up to 6 months. Although many different areas can be treated, the most commonly treated areas are the smile lines between the nose and mouth (nasolabial folds), lips, and creases that turn down the corners of the mouth (Marionette lines).

Collagen

If you are a smoker or a person bothered by lines around your lips, we have a treatment especially for you. You may choose to have collagen to fill in the lines. Perhaps you are interested in a combination of Botox and collagen.  Ask us which treatment may be right for you.

Collagen is a protein found in the skin which gives structure to your skin. New FDA-approved injectable collagen replacement therapies do not require a pre-treatment skin test. They are made from natural human collagen which is grown under controlled laboratory conditions. These products allow you to receive treatment immediately, give immediate results, and have no down time after treatment. In addition, the product is formulated with an anesthetic to give greater comfort during treatment. The treatments may last up to six months in some individuals. As with many other treatments, it can be used in combination with Botox or hyaluronic acid-based fillers.
