Laser Treatments for Facial Wrinkles, Acne Scars, Surgical Scars, Stretch Marks, Melasma or other pigment spots

Rejuvenation, Wrinkle Reduction, and Skin Resurfacing

If you live with and are bothered by facial wrinkles, acne scars, surgical scars, stretch marks, age spots, melasma, or blotchy skin, you may be pleased to learn that recent technological advances have made treatment of these conditions possible and that they can all be treated with the same light-based technology.

With the Artisan™ system, we can offer many different skin rejuvenation treatments. The addition of the Artisan's suite of fractional ablative and non-ablative lasers to our current armamentarium of pulsed light technologies lets us tailor a personalized treatment regimen for each client.  This newer fractional technology offers the best results with minimal disruption or downtime.

Palomar Lux 1540 Non-Ablative Fractional laser

If the sun damage on your face has left fine lines, wrinkles, or extensive age or pigment spots, you may want to consider Fractional Skin Resurfacing with our Lux 1540 Fractional laser in order to maximize your facial rejuvenation.  Perhaps you had moderate to severe acne in the past or as a teen and are left with significant acne scarring.  Do you have darker skin and are you bothered by pigment spots or unsightly scars and have not seen any improvement with bleaching creams?  If so, you may derive significant benefit from Fractional Skin Resurfacing with our Lux 1540 Fractional laser.  This non-ablative fractional laser delivers tiny beams of laser energy into the skin to create tiny columns of damage to the skin  through the epidermis into the dermis without creating open wounds.  As these tiny columns of damaged tissue heal over the next few days, the result is healthier, younger-looking skin.

As this is a  procedure with with minimal redness, swelling or downtime, it requires a small series of treatments which gradually improves the appearance of the skin giving excellent aesthetic results.  Stretch marks become less noticeable.  Surgical scars become less distinct.  Acne scars appear more subtle.  Melasma and pigmented lesions appear to lighten.  Over a series of treatments, the results continue to improve.  Since this is a non-ablative laser and leaves the skin intact, there is minimal, if any, downtime.  The procedure is quite comfortable and usually only requires application of an anesthetic cream to maximize the comfort.

Lasers and pulsed light treatments can be used to lighten the color of scars and darkly pigmented lesions. With newer fractional technology we are now able to treat even the darkest skinned clients safely.  We also have various cosmeceutical products which can be used alone or in concert with our laser and light-based treatments to treat the problematic areas of hyperpigmentation.

At your consultation for fractional resurfacing, we will evaluate your skin and listen to your specific concerns. We will customize a treatment plan to suit your individual situation.  The number of treatments will vary depending on the condition being treated.  The actual area to be treated with be discussed as well.  Once the type of treatment, anticipated number of treatments needed, and the area to be treated are determined, you will be presented with a package price for your individualized treatment plan.  As with our other treatments, we have prices for individual treatments as well as for packages of treatments.  In order for you to take advantage of the greatest discount, we recommend purchasing a package of treatments as the larger the number of treatments purchased initially, the greater the discount.

Palomar Lux 2940 Ablative Fractional laser

This laser provides fractional ablative skin resurfacing.  This deeper skin resurfacing treatment has a controlled ablation depth to allow for a single treatment to get you back to your regular activity in as little as two days. The results as often comparable to the results seen with fractional CO2 laser treatments, with fewer complications, less pain and faster recovery.   In some cases a combination fractional ablative and fractional non-ablative skin resurfacing treatment can be performed in the same day.   The combination use of the two different lasers makes possible a tighter control of depth of tissue coagulation and ablation depending on the individual client's needs.  This customization maximizes the results of the treatment while minimizing downtime.

At your consultation for fractional resurfacing, we will evaluate your skin and listen to your specific concerns. We will customize a treatment plan to suit your individual situation.  The number of treatments will vary depending on the condition being treated.  However, the number of ablative treatments needed is usually less than the number of non-ablative treatments.  The actual area or areas to be treated with be discussed as well.  Once the type of treatment, anticipated number of treatments needed, and the areas to be treated are determined, you will be presented with a package price for your individualized treatment plan.  As with our other treatments, we have prices for individual treatments as well as for packages of treatments.  In order for you to take advantage of the greatest discount, we recommend purchasing a package of treatments as the larger the number of treatments purchased initially, the greater the discount.

The following chart summarizes the differences between the two devices and their results.

Non-Ablative Skin Resurfacing Ablative Skin Resurfacing

Excellent outcome with minimal treatment time Less risk of scarring, infection or long-term pigment change in comparison to CO2 resurfacing
No topical anesthesia required Consistent long-term results
Minimal to no pain during procedure Controlled treatment depths for customized outcomes
Minimized redness or swelling No nerve blocks required
Rapid treatments One treatment, rather than multiple treatments, which are required for non-ablative resurfacing
Majority of epidermis remains in place, eliminating open wound issues and allowing for rapid healing Erbium wavelength provides greater thermal control versus CO2
