There are many reasons for choosing surgery for body contouring. Perhaps, no matter how much you exercise, you just cannot seem to lose that extra fat on your hips, stomach, or other area. Perhaps you lost 100 pounds after weight-loss surgery and are now left with a large amount of excess skin which is simply hanging.  Are you unable to wear the clothes which you would like to wear due to the amount of excess skin?  Are you uncomfortable with your appearance for another reason? Cosmetic plastic surgery may be able help you achieve the results which you are seeking by tightening, excising, or contouring various areas of your body.

Liposuction and the SLIM (Selective Laser Induced Melting) Procedure

Liposuction is a safe, effective method of contouring your body. It can restore a healthier appearance by removing undesirable fat from various areas of the body, such as the abdomen, love handles, hips, buttocks, thighs, knees, upper arms, chin, cheeks and neck. It can sculpt your body giving you a more shapely form. Liposuction can improve the way that we fit and look in clothes. It is one of the most popular cosmetic surgery procedures today.

In order to maximize results and client satisfaction, our practice has recently introduced the SLIM (Selective Laser Induced Melting) Procedure or laser lipolysis.  Unlike other laser or liposuction treatments, the SLIM Procedure uses advanced technology to deliver dual wavelengths of laser light, specifically designed to easily melt fat for removal from the body.  Since the procedure is less traumatic and minimally invasive, many cases can be done safely under local anesthesia in an office setting.  The result is skin tightening, faster healing, less downtime, little to no bruising, smaller incisions, smoother skin, and remarkable results.  Overall, the SLIM Procedure is easier on your body.  The most popular areas treated with SLIM Lipo include the neck, arms, flanks or sides, abdomen, and thighs.

Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty)

A tummy tuck, or abdominoplasty, is a procedure which removes the excess skin and fat from the abdomen and tightens the abdominal muscles. It is indicated for individuals who, through weight gain and loss or pregnancy, have stretched their abdominal muscles and skin beyond the point where they can return to normal. A waistline which is hidden under excess skin can be recreated. The clothing which simply could not fit over the excess skin may fit more comfortably or may even need to be a size smaller. Individuals who have an abdominoplasty often have an enhanced self-confidence from their improved appearance. The best candidates are healthy, in good physical condition, and have pockets of fat or loose skin which has not responded to diet and exercise.

Lower Body Lift

If you have recently lost a large amount of weight and have noticed skin hanging from your abdomen, back, and sides, then you may be a candidate for a lower body lift or belt lipectomy. This procedure is the circumferential removal of excess skin and fat from the lower torso and upper outer aspect of the legs. The procedure is a combination of a tummy tuck, buttock lift and upper, outer thigh lift all in one. It is usually indicated in individuals who have lost a significant amount of weight and have developed a large amount of loose, hanging skin. Many individuals can achieve a more normal body proportion after such a procedure.

Thigh Lift

Did you recently lose a large amount of weight? Do you feel that you have no knees or you cannot find them under the sagging skin? Perhaps the skin between your legs constantly rubs together. Did you feel that your legs appeared more “normal” prior to losing all of the weight? If this describes your situation, you may want to consider a thigh lift.

A thigh lift removes excess skin and fat from the upper legs. The best candidates typically have loose, inelastic skin after significant weight loss. The procedure can help an individual to achieve a more normal body proportion. A thigh lift can be combined with liposuction for improved contour for those individuals who still have some fat deposits on their legs which are unresponsive to diet and exercise.

Buttock Lift

A buttock lift is the removal of excess skin and fat from the buttock area. Although it is usually part of a lower body lift, a buttock lift can be performed alone. Perhaps you already had a “tummy tuck” but have since noticed that your buttocks are drooping. Consider a buttock lift to lift and tighten your buttocks to match your tighter tummy.

Arm Lift (Brachioplasty)

After extreme weight loss, weight gain or due to aging, skin on the upper arms can become inelastic, loose and flabby. An arm lift or brachioplasty can remove that excess skin and fat leaving a shapelier arm. The procedure can be combined with liposuction for those patients who have a significant amount of excess fat on the arms as well.
